Emily 8 months

8 months and counting!

It has been an eventful month!! You are moving everywhere, not crawling, just moving! You get where you want to be! You have sprouted your first top tooth and the second one isn't far behind! You have mastered the pincher grip with your fingers which you promptly used to put cheerios and puffs in your mouth!! Now you want them all the time! You had your first experience with pink eye! Luckily you didn't mind the ointment and it came and went very quickly!
Your first road trip to Houston wasn't that great. You slept great in the car but when you were awake you weren't happy to just chill!! Mommy had to get in the back seat with you and Sesame Street songs on repeat got us through! Hopefully you will learn to entertain yourself better before we try another road trip! Your sister is your favorite person, followed closely by your daddy!

You are growing like a weed and eating like a horse! You are wearing 12-18 months clothes and even some of those don't fit!! :) I love you little chunky monkey!!

So I am a little late this month, but we have been super busy!! And so have you little one!!
Here are some highlights!!
-You have two bottom teeth and you like to play with them with your fingers
-you do this funny little chuckle
-you are trying your first cheerios and puffs, not quite able to get them yourself
-you constantly wiggle your toes and rotate your feet, I love it!
-sitting up all by yourself and rolling over constantly!
-you say dada all the time but with no person attached to it, it is your favorite sound
-you love to yell, for no apparent reason at all
-you are growing so fast, as apparent by your pajamas

-you experienced your first snow, well ice storm really

-we had our first trip to Urgent Care during the ice storm because you had a relapse of your cough and cold
-finally slept through the night!!! Hallelujah!

Love you munchkin!!

Emily 6 months

6 month highs and lows

Highs
- your giggle
-that smile
-two new teeth
-fruits and veggies
-sitting up by yourself (almost)
-"talking"
- 18 lbs!!!
-rolling over (both ways)
-sleeping on your side
-bouncing in your jumperoo

Lows
-teething
-bad cold and cough
-double ear infection
-not sleeping well

It has been a wild month, we had to find joy in the small things this month. You spent most of the month teething and then having a horrible cold with a cough. Then we ended the month with a double ear infection. You had a horrible time sleeping and were just not yourself. Luckily, there were many moments where your precious personality pushed through!! That smile of yours can make any crazy day better!!

Emily 5 months

Five months have come and gone, who knew??? I am not sure your exact weight but you are one chunky monkey!! Your clothes are so tight and you are so long. I am having to buy new things just to keep you dressed!!  Things you love- your hands, blowing spit bubbles, making raspberry sounds, your highchair, anything that plays music, your sister! Things you don't love- rice cereal or any food, taking medicine, your first tooth popping through, being in your car seat for too long and being left out of the action.
Big things this month- you found your feet and love to grab them, trying to rollover from back to front and your first tooth just under the surface.

Love you nugget!!!

Cousin Time

My cousins and I were always really close. Even though we moved away at a pretty young age, our parents made sure we saw each other at least twice a year. Christmases spent at Grandma and Grandpa's, vacations to the beach and now weddings and babies!! My cousin Bobby and his wife Jen came down to visit and brought their son Jackson. It was our first time to meet him since he was born and he is now 10 months! It was so fun to have all of our babies playing together just like we used to!!!
